Cooking

- Scouts: Cook dinner and breakfast, please confirm that everyone planned for was present at Monday’s planning meeting.
- Adults: We have an Adult cook group for dinner and breakfast.
Gear
This area is wilderness that can vary widely in temperature and weather. Be prepared for hot sun and also rain.
Shelters are to be built out of items found in the wilderness. This area has a lot of trees and downed branches.

Bring a mess kit.
Bring a sleeping bag and pad. The troop has sleeping pads and even some sleeping bags to lend.
A ground cloth is ok.
The troop has water filters.
Non-match and non-lighter fire starters are used for this merit badge.
Travel
Drive to Barrel Spring, CA 92066 on the S22 Montezuma Valley Road: https://maps.app.goo.gl/y7LusHhuWbZzxxmb6
Park along the side of the road. National Forest Adventure Passes are required.
Walk south along the Pacific Crest Trail to the campsite near the water tank and the tree with the Barrel Spring sign, where those doing the merit badge will make their shelters.
The next day, return to the cars the way you came.
