NOTE: Only the first 24 signed up will be accepted.
If you plan to go on the Sierra Trek replacement for Philmont this summer, this trip is mandatory training unless Mr. Molitor excuses you. If you are planning to go to Philmont next summer you are highly encouraged to go on this backpack outing.
When: May 27-28. We may leave from St. James on Friday night, but will return in the early afternoon on Sunday.
Where: San Bernardino National Forest
Who: All scouts and registered adults that enjoy backpacking and want to start out on a moderate training backpack.
Trip: This is an in and out trail hike culminating in scaling East San Bernardino Peak
Cost: $tbd (probably 30-35) for Scouts and Adults.
Equipment: Refer to the Weekend Backpack column of the troop’s standard equipment checklist. Everyone must have rain gear – rain jacket and pants are best.
Water: Water is available at the beginning and end of trail and with all the snow, springs should be running.
Transportation: Cars and Adventure passes
